Diane von Furstenberg entered the fashion world in 1972 with a suitcase full of jersey dresses. In 1974 she created the wrap dress, which came to symbolize power and independence for an entire generation of women. By 1976, over a million had sold. After a hiatus, Diane re-launched the dress in 1997, reestablishing her company as a global luxury lifestyle brand. DVF is now sold in over 55 countries. Diane’s earned numerous accolades, helmed one of the most esteemed fashion organizations in the world, and has been dubbed one of the most powerful women in fashion. Diane’s memoir, The Woman I Wanted to Be, was released in November of 2014.
